SRS Volume IQ™ is a highly efficient advanced Automatic Gain Control (AGC). While the primary, most obvious use for SRS Volume IQ is for televisions and set-top boxes, other products including mobile phones, portable media devices and personal computers will also greatly benefit from the audio process.

Fluctuating volume on broadcast TV, particularly between the program and commercials and when switching from analog to digital TV channels, is a common complaint of consumers. While certain solutions exist, the artifacts they introduce only exacerbate the problem. SRS Volume IQ is the first audio process to minimize these artifacts while accurately maintaining the target volume level and producing a high-quality audio experience.

SRS Volume IQ uses psychoacoustic principals to analyze and address the perceived level (volume) changes in an audio signal. Unlike traditional AGC processes, SRS Volume IQ is based on human loudness perception models and multi-band signal analysis.  Additionally, SRS Volume IQ is extremely efficient in resource and memory usage compared to other solutions on the market and it supports mono, stereo and multichannel processing.
