R&D Manager
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the R&D Manager will be responsible for directing the company’s audio research and development group. R&D Manager will roll-up his/her sleeves and get right in the code to trouble shoot problems as well as play a leading role in the overall architecture and design of new technologies and the improvement of existing technologies.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to VP of Engineering
Core Responsibilities :
This new position will manage the company’s R&D group which and will include the following and other related responsiblities:
- Quarterback, develop, and mentor the R&D group or up to 4 or 5 highly skill audio development engineers
- Manage R&D projects including development of algorithms into the c reference code
- Design test specifications for the algorithms and specify the demo packages
- Lead technical discussions with internal and external customers
- Direct research projects in the audio area including invention of new algorithms, improvement of current technologies to insure that the SRS Labs engineering team stays at the forefront of leading edge technologies within the audio industry
- Develops processes to improve quality, product performance and development cycle
- Collaborates and interacts with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Field Engineering Manager for new product development
- Plans, schedules, and directs R&D projects to ensure completion in an expedient manner
- Adheres to established company procedures and quality standards
Required Education/ Experience and Skills:
- Masters or Ph.D in EE or Audio engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in the audio industry
- Superb knowledge of industry trends in audio technologies
- Strong hands on experience in both research and product development
- 5+ years of management/leadership experience
- Passionate about audio and electronics
- Solid experience in audio development processes
- Proficient in C/C++, code design principles and DSP principles.
- Superb communicator who is easy to work with and loves a challenge
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
